How I Get Clients From SEO: My 3-Step Approach

By WebCare in November 27, 2024 – Reading time 3 minute

When I first started diving into SEO, I thought it was all about keywords and backlinks. Don’t get me wrong—those things matter—but over time, I realized that getting clients from SEO is much more strategic.

It’s not just about ranking high on Google; it’s about what happens after someone clicks.

Let me walk you through the three essential steps I follow to turn organic traffic into actual clients.

Get client from Google

1. A Fast and Secure Website: The Non-Negotiable Foundation

I’ve learned this the hard way: a slow website is a client repellent. You can have the best content in the world, but if your site takes forever to load or isn’t secure, potential clients will leave before they even read a word.

Security is another biggie. Imagine landing on a website that throws a “Not Secure” warning in your face. Would you trust that site?

Neither would I. So, the first step in my SEO strategy is always making sure my website is fast and secure.

Download the checklist on right to help you make your website faster.

2. Google Search Console: My Secret Weapon

As Peter Drucker, the father of modern management, once said, “You can’t manage what you don’t measure.” This quote sticks with me every time I log into Google Search Console (GSC).

GSC is a goldmine of data. It shows me what keywords people are using to find my site, how many impressions I’m getting, and which pages are performing well. Without it, I’d be flying blind. Every client acquisition starts with understanding these metrics.

If you’re not using GSC yet, trust me—you’re missing out on crucial insights that could help you land more clients.

3. Excellent Content: The Wow Factor

Now, let’s talk content—the real star of the show. But not just any content. I’m talking about in-depth, engaging, and intentional content that makes visitors stop and say, “Wow, this is exactly what I needed.”

When I create content, I aim for depth. I use stats, expert quotes, and data to back up my points. But it’s not just about stuffing facts into a blog post.

It’s about matching the intent behind a user’s search query. If someone searches for “best SEO tips,” they’re not looking for a basic checklist—they want actionable, valuable insights.

And design matters. I’ve found that content with a clean, visually appealing design performs much better. Great content + great design = higher engagement and more conversions.

Why These Steps Work for Me

These three steps—speed and security, Google Search Console, and excellent content—work because they address the core of what SEO is about: serving the user.

When your site loads quickly, provides valuable content, and is optimized using data-driven insights, you’re not just bringing people to your site—you’re convincing them to stay and, eventually, become clients.

If you’re serious about using SEO to get clients, start with these steps. And if you’re a WordPress user like me, stay tuned for more business tips that will help you maximize your website’s potential.
